At first, we thought this company started by happenstance, but after hearing countless stories of how our product transported people back to the warmth and nostalgia of their grandmother's cooking, we realized it was so much more. It wasn't just about food—it was about rekindling those cherished memories and moments of comfort. That's when we knew we had something special: the perfect product, created by the right people, at the right time, to offer a modern way for people to indulge in the flavors that have always meant home.
Co-Founders Toshia Tiller and Sheila Tiller-Tooks founded CornbreadSisters after Toshia, being in the kitchen, wanted to create a recipe for cornbread that would satisfy her taste buds. After multiple attempts, she discovered a premium buttermilk homemade cornbread recipe.
Sheila, known for her entrepreneurial spirit, had the idea to contact a restaurant to ask if they would carry their cornbread and the restaurant agreed, thus the business was born. The sisters joined forces integrating their skills in sales, business, and marketing, and decided to keep the recipe a family secret.
They would make this cornbread for family dinners, holiday company parties, and special occasions and received rave reviews and requests for the recipe. They wanted to create a space where they would show up to events and everyone would know who actually created the original recipe. This dream birthed CornbreadSisters.
